House Painting

A neighbor's girl helps paint the house trim

This week's newsletter is short. I made a trip to Tijuana, Mexico over the weekend, in part to help build a new home for a family in a difficult situation. It was the first home Casas de Luz has built since March of this year. The girl in the above photo lives across the street in a shack, literally a shack. She was only one of the local community that came together to help build a home in only one day. It was quite an accomplishment.
This morning, I have my stuff packed for a camping trip to the Mojave Desert. That is the reason for the short newsletter. I am leaving at lunchtime today.
Next week, I plan to talk more about the home we helped build in Mexico. Why conversations can matter more now than ever before. And how I ended up going to the desert this week.
