You have probably seen the iconic photo of a place called Mesa Arch, which is in Canyon Lands National Park, USA. I made this photo a few miles away from Mesa Arch on a jeep trail leading out of the park. Now here's the thing, I went to Mesa Arch that morning, and there was a line of photographers, all making the same photo of the sun rising through the arch. Spectacular, but it's been done, over and over.
The beautiful scene you see in this photo was not more than a few miles away. This is the photography I go for. Images that others have passed by or not noticed and are stunning in their own right. The spectacular beauty of this part of America means to me that no photo needs to be repeated by any photographer.
And in case you are wondering, I did make a photo of Mesa Arch. It was later in the morning; there is a mom and her son with their backs to me, looking out through the archway. It's a nice photo with a human perspective.
If you want the unique and original in fine art photography, this is it. The photo "Rocks & Butte" will adorn your walls with a splash of color and provide enjoyment for years to come.
