This is one of those photos that reminded me why I am a landscape photographer. I got an early start on my day because there was no point in trying to sleep anymore. It had been a rough night with a highway too close to the campground for it to be quiet. Bugs were everywhere, making me feel even more annoyed. Groggy and half asleep, I emerged from my tent. It was a challenging start to a three-week trip that would see many other sleepless nights.

As the sun began to rise, the light fell just right. I set up my tripod and mounted the camera for a few quick exposures. As quick as that beautiful light had come - it was gone. That was enough. I had the image I wanted. I love it!
