Do you ever get up before sunrise and enjoy the quietest moment of the day? When the shadows are long, the air is crisp, and the birds are beginning to sing. Holding a hot cup of coffee or tea in your hands while enjoying the peacefulness of the sunrise. It's the magical part of the day. All is still yet to happen on that day.
This is a sunrise photo of Factory Butte in Eastern Utah. I didn't even know it had a name when I camped across the road from it. In the early morning, sitting on a bluff with my camera and coffee in hand, I made this one exposure, then enjoyed my coffee while watching the sun wash over the plains.
Photographed on Kodak Portrait 400, 120 film.
