Date Palms in a Row

Southern California is mostly desert, except for a spine of mountains that continues south from the Sierra range. On one side of those mountains is the westernmost part of the Colorado Desert. And in that desert is the Salton Sea. The sea is a natural depression that had mostly dried up until a levy broke and flooded the area. Along the sea coast are Date palm farms that produce most, if not all, of the Dates in the U.S.
Here is a photo of one of those Date farms, viewed from the side of the road. I created this image with a modified Sony camera that only makes black and white exposures. During post-processing, I added a touch of color to take the edge off the stark greyscale image. For the finest black and white print, I recommend Canson Semi-Gloss Fine Art Paper (Canson Platine Fibre Rag.) A canvas print or gallery wrap would also present nicely.
