This was a happy surprise photo for me. We had gotten an Amaryllis over the holidays and enjoyed the bloom well into January. I set the plant outside on our porch and gave it a little water every now and then.
This was a happy surprise photo for me. We had gotten an Amaryllis over the holidays and enjoyed the bloom well into January. I set the plant outside on our porch and gave it a little water every now and then. The other greenery with it stayed alive and looked pretty sitting on the patio. Well, this summer - the Amaryllis bloomed! I was so surprised.
I hadn't gotten out much to practice my photography craft, and I thought this bloom would be a good opportunity. I made several exposures and started processing the image on my computer. Lo and behold, this was an extraordinary flower. The colors and detail were easy to bring out and accentuate. I am delighted with the results.
This photo will compliment any decor with understated elegance. And the perfect gift for the botanist in your life.
